It requires an inner commitment to yourself. Sometimes we have to keep choosing to accept the new reality over and over for a very long time.


A helpful skill to keep you on the path of your goals is “turning the mind.” It’s a skill in which you choose to accept the inner commitment you made to yourself. For some, it’s helpful to imagine a fork on the road. One path is your new commitment, the other is your old ways. You are choosing to accept the new commitment. Some people have to turn their minds in that direction. Turning the mind is sometimes like turning the head, just a few degrees of movement toward the fork in the road. Sometimes, though, it’s like turning the whole body; it requires a full turn back to the path. Sometimes you have to repeat these steps over and over again. That’s okay. It’s part of the process. I should add she has a phD in obesity in children 😁
